Jamie31 Posted December 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2012 We are a couple in our 30's looking for something fun, we were looking at a snorkeling trip or something that can show us the island without being on a bus all day, any recommendations? Thanks! Jamie :D
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted December 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2012 Can't recommend Calabaza Catamaran highly enough. Had an absolutely fabulous day; snorkelled with turtles, ate really well and just had a blast.
girlscruise2011 Posted December 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Can't recommend Calabaza Catamaran highly enough. Had an absolutely fabulous day; snorkelled with turtles, ate really well and just had a blast. Sounds like a perfect day but the website doesn't say how much it cost per person? How long ago did you go on this excursion and how much was it at that time? I'm not there until January 2014 but just checking out things right now to help plan a budget. With a family of 5, things seem to be a little pricey so I need to be prepared
Miss Vickie Posted December 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2012 We're booked with Calabazza for next month, at $110 per person, plus tip. I'd write them , though, as rates could very well change in a year. I found they are very responsive to e-mail.
susuyt Posted December 30, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 30, 2012 We just got back from our cruise so let me tell you what we do, we have been to Barbados 2 times now and love it. We don't like to do cruise ship excursions so I find private on our own. The first year we tried "Elegance Cruises" because I didn't want to be with a lot of people I wanted more private. We booked with them and man let me tell you we have a WONDERFUL day. There were only 7 on the catamaran! Sarah and her husband Cally are the owners and they are a first class outfit. We were fed a wonderful meal and a relaxing day with 2 stops to snorkel, one of a wrecked ship and then with the turtles. Ashley, part of the crew, knows how to get the turtles to come right up to you. In fact the first year there were about 5 swimming around us this year there were 2 but just 2 is a site I never get tried of seeing. The cost is $100.00 each and you will never regret one penny of it. So bottom line if you want a small group, peaceful, wonderful experience give them a look. We will use them every time we visit Barbados. We took friends with us this year and they agreed it was the highlight of the cruise. If you google Elegance cruises barbados I'm sure you will find them. Happy Cruising.
