wrigley80 Posted January 6, 2013 Author #103 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Day #4 on the Carnival Ecstasy brought us to Freeport, Bahamas. I don't really care for Freeport so I stayed onboard but my dad got off to go to Senor Frogs. For those of you who haven't been to Freeport lately there is a nice addition to the port area....Senor Frogs. The grand opening was the Friday before we arrived so it hadn't been open too long Carnival Pride.....wow the ships look big when you see them like that
wrigley80 Posted January 6, 2013 Author #104 Share Posted January 6, 2013 This is the Formalities shop....it is on the Promenade deck near the casino. From the outside it looks like an old trolley car Holiday Show onboard with the Carnival Ecstasy singers and dancers. The production shows on the Ecstasy were different from anything that I have seen on a Carnival ship. In the production shows everyone sings and dances....where usually there are 2 singers and the rest are dancers. This wasn't the case on the Ecstasy. It was pretty cool to see everyone sing and dance It's snowing inside the Carnival Ecstasy....
wrigley80 Posted January 6, 2013 Author #105 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Tonight was our last night onboard the Ecstasy :( so we wanted to savor every minute that we could The Lido/Pool area on Deck 10. I didn't realize that the color of the pool changed until we walked around that night. I guess I wasn't too observant the previous 3 days  The bar area on Lido deck.....there is 1 on each side of Lido deck Well it was time to head to our final dinner on the Ecstasy.... LOVECRUISING100% Posted January 7, 2013 #109 Share Posted January 7, 2013 After we left M&M's World we went to Senor Frogs in Orlando because my dad just had to get a t-shirt or two. The Senor Frogs is right on International Drive and it is relatively new As you can see they were a little slow.....we were there at 3:00 Yep my dad has a bag in his hands.....you know it. He got 2 t-shirts. His entire consists of Margaritaville and Senor Frogs t-shirts :p I just couldn't resist this picture :D Love it !!
LOVECRUISING100% Posted January 7, 2013 #110 Share Posted January 7, 2013 Before our cruise I had contacted John Heald through his FB page to ask him a few questions. I never expected the surprise that was waiting for us the first night when we returned to our cabin Waiting for us was a 24 Karat Ship on a Stick, a Bottle of Champagne, a plate full of Chocolate covered strawberries, and a very nice note from John Heald Our nightly towel animal likes our little surprise as well :p It is reasons like these why I love Carnival Cruise Lines. Just wondering.. What questions do I need to ask John on his FB page to get this kind of treat?? LOL.... Thanks for posting Great Review .. Loving the pic's .. Happy Cruising ! I love sitting outside under cover and watching and listening to the rain.. Thanks for sharing. Thank-You....I love listening to the rain as well. It was so peaceful and such a relaxing day. We have never had a rainy day on a cruise so it was a nice change....as long as you didn't have a shore excursion planned ;)

wrigley80 Posted January 7, 2013 Author #113 Share Posted January 7, 2013 OK I am back and ready to complete the first half of this review on the Carnival Ecstasy...... This was the chocolate almond cake with butter pecan ice cream. You would definitely need some ice cream to go along with the cake because it was pretty rich. I realize I didn't get many pics of food on this cruise This was Herold.....our head waiter in the dining room. He was a great guy Me and dad at our last dinner on the Carnival Ecstasy. Usually we hate the final dinner because they always sing the song...."Leaving on a Fun Ship...." but on this particular ship we didn't mind hearing it because we knew we were boarding another ship :D So there you have it...our cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy. Next up is the day in between our two cruises and our cruise on the Carnival Sensation
wrigley80 Posted January 7, 2013 Author #114 Share Posted January 7, 2013 We had one day in between our two cruises so we stayed again at the Comfort Inn on Atlantic Ave. As I previously said it was a great hotel. We didn't have many plans for this day other than going to Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach. We decided to rent a car again from Budget rental car because it was going to be cheaper than having a taxi to go everywhere plus with a car then we can go where we want to. When we disembarked the Ecstasy we boarded the Budget rental car shuttle bus. It was very convenient and easy to get the shuttle This was our car for the day....a Toyota 4 Runner. It was a sweet ride for the day and definitely the way to go After we picked up our car we headed to the hotel to see if they had a room ready for us and they did. It was only 10:00 am and our room was ready. That was very convenient. We dropped off our suitcases and headed out to Ron Jon Surf Shop. I was prepared for this store to be big but I was blown away with its size. It was huge. There was something for everyone. T-shirts, sandals, surfboards/boogie boards.......I could go on and on. I couldn't decide on which ones I wanted so I bought them all :D
wrigley80 Posted January 7, 2013 Author #116 Share Posted January 7, 2013 Next Stop on Our Tour around Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral area......Kennedy Space Center We didn't really have time to go inside to see everything but my dad wanted to go there to go to the gift shop. This is the space shuttle Atlantis. They brought the space shuttle in turned it sideways and they are now constructing the building around it. The Atlantis exhibit opens in the summer. That was pretty cool to see the space shuttle
wrigley80 Posted January 7, 2013 Author #117 Share Posted January 7, 2013 This was the space shuttle Inspiration. This was at the Astronaut Hall of Fame just down the road from the Kennedy Space Center

kjlermer Posted January 7, 2013 #119 Share Posted January 7, 2013 Can't wait for your Sensation review to start as we will be on her in like 5 weeks :). Question for freeport. You stated that there was a Senor Frogs now. Was the little bar still there when you first get off the ship. Seamans Rest Sports Bar? We were in freeport in May 2009 while on a NCL boat. We would love to go back!

wrigley80 Posted January 8, 2013 Author #123 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Thanks! That is not completely true. We had a porthole cabin and we had a refrigerator in our cabin. My dad is a diabetic and he needs a fridge to keep medications cold. If you ask your stateroom steward when you arrive onboard for a fridge they will bring you one if they still have some available. I just wanted to clarify
mommom of 7 Posted January 8, 2013 #124 Share Posted January 8, 2013 We also had a fridge, the ol'man's breathing med's had to be kept cold. Our room steward did it on his own. :) We were on the cruise with Brianna ( Escatsy )
wrigley80 Posted January 8, 2013 Author #125 Share Posted January 8, 2013 I'm back this morning. It is a tough morning around here after Notre Dame poor showing in the National Championship game. Oh well I guess it is only a game  Time to get back to the review.....the day in between the two cruises my dad and I wanted to go to dinner at Fishlips Restaurant along the waterfront down by the port. It was a perfect place to watch the cruise ships leave. We arrived around 3:30 to get a spot upstairs. We ordered the Fish and Chips and waited for the ships to leave. The first ship to leave was the Carnival Ecstasy..... There she is.....somebody is in my cabin. I hope they had fun just like we did on the Ecstasy
