cruzemaven Posted June 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2005 I undersand that you now need a visa when visiting Turkey. My question is...if you are on the ship when you enter Turkey and do not overnight there, do you need a visa? The Zierer visa service website says cruiseships not staying overnight and just visiting for the day are the exception...just wondering if anyone has done this recently...thankyou. Fogmalkin Posted June 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2005 I have always either embarked or disembarked in Istanbul and HAVE needed the visa. Either way it is a piece of cake. Upon arrival at the airport in IST you obtain a Turkish visa for $20 before going through immigration. Disembarking in IST you will find that a Turkish visa has magically appeared in your passport and your shipboard account has been charged $20. If you NEED one when you are in transit (that I don't know) the ship will take care of it for you. One less thing to worry about.
