3rdmate Posted January 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2013 We have never sailed with MSC. Poesia sails at 7:00PM on Feb. 2 and we were notified that check-in is at 4:00PM which is kind of late. Perhaps a way to save a lunch but nevertheless, would that time be for us specifically or for all passengers. Sometimes cruise lines stagger boarding. How does this all impact on dinner, especially the first seating?
ron46936 Posted January 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2013 We arrived before noon and checked in right away. We then waited a bit but not to long to go aboard. We had lunch in the buffet.

I've checked in twice with MSC well before the posted time - usually around noon and plan to do so again this year. Lunch will be served in the buffet, 1st dinner isn't affected much. Muster drill has been around 5pm with 1st dinner at 5:30. By any chance are you with the Irish group?

Official checkin time is always 3 hours before sailing, but as others have said you are able to check in a lot earlierbthan that. The later stated time is mainly for Europeans coming off of transatlantic flights arriving mid afternoon. Dinner ismonly impacted if you are checking in later and are on first sitting. mermaidIamNOT Posted January 8, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2013 We'll be on this sailing too. We joined the group after reading the irish entertainment was private. 3rdmate are you aware that the irish theme is a private group and not many of their performances are open to everyone onboard?
