jgmpuma Posted January 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2013 These two are excellent. Entrees are in the low to mid $20's, but well worth it. They are right across the street from each other, and owned by the same guy. http://www.tommyscuisine.com http://www.tomasbistro.com More casual and less expensive, but still very good: http://www.grandislerestaurant.com
Human Speedbump Posted January 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2013 I am very familiar with that area, I just stayed at the Hyatt Place on Convention Center Blvd last week. The Hilton Garden Inn is 1 block behind and 2 blocks over from the Hyatt Place. I think the best dining in that area is on Fulton Street. 7 on Fulton St.- Great Louisiana cuisine, located in the Wyndam Riverfront. Mulate's- Can be accessed from either Convention Center Blvd or Fulton St. Great cajun Cuisine and usually live cajun music. Grand Isle- Located in the Harra's casino complex. Try the Fish Tacos Manning's- Also located in the Harra's casino complex. Graet baby back ribs. JUst remember that Fulton Street does not begin until 2 blocks from your hotel. Go out the front door, take a left, go 1.5 blocks and take a right on S. Diamond and go one block to Fulton St. on the left. Fulton Street is only 5 or 6 blocks long and all those restaurants are there plus some. If you feel like walking a little further, Drago's is in the Hilton Riverside. Great seafood, my favorite is Char-grilled Oysters, but they have it all.
