Camp Carnival Program Questions

In general, it works like this.

Seas days: open in the morning until lunchtime. Closed from about 12-2. Open from 2 until 5. Closed from 5-6. Open from 6 (dinner) until 10. Open from 10 onwards for a fee.

Port days: open before port arrival until 5. Closed from 5-6. Open from 6 (dinner) until 10. Open from 10 onwards for a fee.

Of course, it may be differnent based on your ship, etc, but that's the general idea. You can drop your kids off anytime it is open and pick them up any time you like.

I assume the offer snacks/drinks?

No snacks. Understandably, they don't want to keep track of which kids are allowed to snack and which aren't, who's allowed to have what, etc. They do have a program where they will take children to dinner at the buffet.

Best,

Mia

We are also sailing Breeze with a two year old the first week of March. I'm interested in finding others experiences. We did RC Oasis last year when DD was 11 months and had the best time! I hope this will be the same kind of experience!

Now Carnival kid clubs are open from 10am to 10pm without a fee on sea days. On port days they do close certain times. They no longer close from 12-2 or 3-5 like they used to on sea days but remind you to pick up your kids for meals as they don't feed them.

Oh, that's a change? Do you have any recent camp capers that would give me an idea of what the new schedule looks like?

I will look at home. We sailed over Thanksgiving and I had hear about the change on cruise critic but didn't believe it until we experienced it first hand! It was much nicer being able to plan meals around our schedule versus the camp schedule. Ill see what I can dig up.

We just got off of the Sensation and they gave our child snacks many times. When you fill out the paperwork they ask you about allergies and what foods they can have.

Our LO will have just turned 2 a week before our April cruise. What are your experiences with dropping off your LO at this age? She was at CC before, but this was when she was 13 months.

We walked him in there, signed him in and they checked to make sure we had our phone and that it was charged. There was a locked gate to the play area with 3 different locks on it so no one could just walk in or walk out. The staff was very good and our son absolutely loved camp carnival. They played with toys, watched movies, did face paint, ate snacks and colored a t-shirt that the staff gave the kids. Our son has been going to daycare since he was 6 or 8 months old and is now in his second year of pre-school. So, he is used to that environment.

I'm hoping my daughter can adjust. She's an only child. When she goes to my Mom's during the weekdays, she's the only child there too. We're trying to socialize more before our cruise, so that she's okay in CC. Any suggestions?

My son was 2.5 on his 2nd cruise (royal Caribbean). Same deal no daycare/only child. We talked to him about it and talked it up a lot. I also tried taking him to kids places before the trip ie bounce places, playgrounds, library story time....anyplace there would be kids. He did pretty good. You just never know lol, good luck.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like she's going to start being a social butterfly!

It's been a while (2002) since we've been on a Carnival cruise, but the only charge we would have for the kids' program was for post 10-pm kidsitting.

For the kids' group dinners, the parents would drop off their kids in the buffet, signing them in right there. After dinner, the counselors would escort the kids to the kids' area for the evening activities. Has this changed? (just trying to clarify what another person said which makes it sound like the counselors take the kids to the buffet, which is a bit different).

We are also on the last sailing of Feb. and also have a child that just turned 2 in Dec. I do know that they do not change diapers but my question is ; Do they allow 2 yr olds in CC with out parents when they are not fully potty trained ? I last sailed in Sept , and he was obviously under 2 at the time but , I had a shore tour booked in Ocho Rios and had to cancel due to the times . Our tour wasnt due back until 12:30 and they said the baby couldnt stay past 12 pm . Tho someone mentioned the new changes I too would like to see how it works now . Im not planning to book anything ahead of time since Im not sure if they will baby sit . I do however know that there is fee for port days rather you are on the ship or not . unless its a over nighter which I have never been on so I have no clue . Anyway if anyone might have a general idea or even a CC caper fairly recent that would be great !

From what I understand, under 2s have certain times in CC. Over 2s will have full access to CC. We're looking forward to that on our next cruise!
