Palm Pilot/Internet access in Alaska and Carnival Spirit

Unfortunately, I will have to do some work while on vacation. Hopefully, not more than 20-30 minutes each day. I know that the Spirit has an Internet Cafe if I take my laptop but I am not sure about a Palm Pilot. If I take a blackberry, will I be able to access my emails while touring in Alaska or will I only be able to access it while in the Internet cafe on the cruise ship?

From Carnival's web site: If Palm Pilots are wireless than guests can take advantage of our wireless access.
