Bathsehba Beach-on my own or not

Would like to go to Bathsheba beach and take pictures.

 

I can take a ship's tour but wonder if I could make arrangements on my own.

 

Has anyone done this?

Have done this twice - car hire (stoutes) right outside the cruise terminal

We just did this last week. What we wanted was to go there spend an hour, then go back. We asked for a taxi estimate. They wanted $130. Way too much for us. By time we finished walking past all the taxis some were offering to do it for $80. Still to much for us. We took the bus. It is in the bus terminal that is farthur away from the cruise port, not the first one you will pass. Keep walking it is about 20 minute walk. It's right off the main road. The bus runs on the hour so don't be like us and miss it by 5 minutes. It is about a 40 minute bus ride. The bus comes back to the same spot it left you on the hour to bring you back. If you take a taxi there and have him drop you off, it may be cheaper, there was a taxi that could have taken us back, but it was not a very populated area so I couldn't promise there is always a taxi that would be ready for you.

It was beautiful, my husband is a photgrapher and he got many great photos and videos. There were people surfing too.
