Nice Garden Hotel and Nice Best Western

I'm starting to look seriously now for hotels in Nice as I think I will have to stay pre-cruise and post-cruise and looking at Trip Advisor, I see the Nice Garden Hotel and the Nice Best Western are highly rated. Has anyone stayed at these hotels and are they centrally located to walk around for shopping and it seems they are not that far from the airport. Other suggestions online have been Beau Rivage and LeMeridien. Has anyone stayed there and are they also centrally located and near the airport. It seems that all flights going home leave at 7:00 AM and the ship does not dock until 6:00 AM, hardly enough time to get to the airport, which means another night stay, although I shouldn't complain! Thanks again for everyone's input; it is much appreciated.

Did you book your own AIR or have Regent do it? I am researching our airfare and giving it to our TA to do an air deviation for Oct'13 trip. There are flights leaving after 10am, so you don't have to scramble and sometimes might have a relaxing morning in port. As to the hotel choice, why stay by the airport when you can be only a few minutes away by shuttle in the heart of the city?

Try hotel La Perouse...fantastic location in old town and near the port......we're there for a week
