I'm intrigued. I've only ever seen Spongebob a couple of times, and it seemed quite harmless to me. Why do people think it is inappropriate?

 

I'm kinda curious too. That really surprises me.

Sponge Bob characters are very rude, crass, sarcastic, cynical, and mean to each other. These are not qualities I want encouraged in my children. Some topics simply don't belong in children's TV; for example, one episode talks about a "panty raid." Another is when Gary and Sponge Bob are taking a bath together. The soap is passed with a statement, "don't drop it" and a wink. Another tries to bury the health inspector to cover up that they killed him (or thought they did). And those are just a few...

We make it a point to preview things before our kids watch them. After a few episodes, we knew it wasn't for our family.
