But great cruise. :D Hopefully I didn't do anything TOO embarassing that will make the review. :p

(Translation I have more pictures drink porn than pictures of the ship) It was a rude re-entry back to work. Since my writing reflects my mood, I should probably put by Alchemy mixology diploma to use before I begin to write.

CoachRob Posted February 8, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 8, 2013 I am waiting as well for the Western Review. I am thinking of taking my family of four on the 7 day Western, but wanted some feedback before I do so. Any tips about the Liberty itself and the ports would be extremely helpful. Thanks. You won't be disappointed. Four cruises on the Liberty and all of them have been great. There's really something special about that ship. The Western run isn't for everyone. Belize I love but you need an excursion. You need to get out of Belize City to really experience the place. Cayman and Cozumel are good for beaches/snorkeling/shopping type days. The stingrays in Cayman are a must-do if you've never done it. Roatan is also beautiful - nice water, snorkeling, laid back beach type places, all sorts of nature type excursions. The Western itin is great if you are into history or adventure type things like ziplines, snorkeling, Maya ruins, etc.
soccersharon Posted February 8, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2013 We sailed the Western on the Liberty in December. Great cruise, good weather, and no major complaints. We purchased FTTF; and would do so again. I take a stab at answering any questions you might have. Sorry, but I didn't keep any Funtimes, though :(. Here's a few pics: Cozumel (we spent the day at Mr. Sanchos) Belize (Altun Ha and Belize City tour through the ship) Roatan (booked a tour through Victor Bodden) Grand Cayman (stingray city - through the ship)
QTPieRye Posted February 8, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Love the pics SoccerSharon :) With the FTTF, what time were you able to tender in the tender ports? Were you one of the first off the ship? The itinerary shows Belize at 9:00 a.m. and Grand Cayman at 10:00 a.m.... do you recall what time you arrived onshore? Our favorite itinerary by far For Cozumel we do Mr Sanchos resort all inclusive drinks and food for $45 per person. They do have a pay as you go side of the resort too.Very well worth $45 if you drink ,the food is awesome too For Grand Cayman if you have never been your kids family would love stingray city tour.We used moby dicks tours. If not that a cheap $5 per person taxi to Calico Jacks a nice little beach bar right on the beach ,chairs to rent.A very cheap beach day For Roatan (our favorite port )we use Victor Bodden Tours and have always had a great time and they cater your ENTIRE day tour to what your family likes http://www.boddentours.com/bestofroatan.htm In Belize we did cave tubing one trip and it was fun to do once

We had booked Carnival excursions for both Belize and Grand Cayman, but, FTTF folks should get some sort of priority (after plat and diamond cruisers, of course). You can go to guest services and find out for sure :) Sorry I couldn't give you better info.

Mr. Sanchos was a great beach day, especially for your first stop. The food was excellent, service was great, and we really enjoyed our day there. Victor's driver was great! We did a Roatan tour, visited Victor's zoo (love those monkeys), and went to a beach in West Bay. Beautiful :)

bananaface Posted February 17, 2013 #22 Share Posted February 17, 2013 For those of you who have sailed on the Liberty recently - was the Taste Bar on the ship? I went last summer, and the ship didn't have one. The deck plan has one on deck 5, right around where the sushi is/was. Did they add one? Traveling again in a few months, would like to try it. Thanks!!

bananaface Posted February 17, 2013 #24 Share Posted February 17, 2013 Thanks! I read on another thread (for a different ship) that sushi was moved to the buffet area. Did you happen to notice where the sushi is now?
vacruizer Posted February 17, 2013 #25 Share Posted February 17, 2013 Thanks! I read on another thread (for a different ship) that sushi was moved to the buffet area. Did you happen to notice where the sushi is now? It's on the regular lido buffet line with the other cold items. DH tried it one night and really misses the old sushi bar. He said it was terrible. Everything I had from the taste bar was excellent, but definitely had some spice to it! Even stuff I didn't expect to be spicy was so have a drink handy.
