Questions about cabins on Infinity

Thanks for your two cents. We are booked on the Infinity from Valpariso to Florida in March 2014. We have not been on this ship for awhile, and wanted some thoughts on cabins. We are wait listed for a suite, but right now have an aqua cabin on deck 11. These are too small for what we like, but just in case nothing else opens up, has anyone been in these cabins. It looks like the buffet is below, and that generates a lot of noise. Thanks in advance

We have been in cabin 1122 and found it to be great. We did not notice any noise (or smells) from the buffet or from the deck above. We thought the location was great to run down the back stairs in the morning to grab an early cup of coffee. It is such a short trip to be up on the big open Deck 12 or walking on deck 11. We thought that whole section of AQ cabins on deck 11 was very quiet and we loved being on top of the ship! Bottom line, we really enjoyed it!

We did a pair of B2B cruises on the Infinity last spring and were in one of the new aft Aqua Class staterooms (1138) for both legs. We also loved the deck 11 location. We had absolutely no problems with noise from the buffet below. And we also didn't have any problems with noise from the Sunset Bar. We were in that stateroom for thirty-one nights and also never did smell any smoke from the Sunset Bar.

Merriem: We have generally booked Sky Suites (either S1 or S2s), so the Aqua Class room definitely was smaller. I actually did feel that we had enough storage space. We fly to every cruise port (we live in the middle of Alaska), and we always check three pieces of luggage with two carry-ons. So while I am not one of those packers who brings absolutely everything they can possibly ever imagine needing, I am not a minimalist either. We do use some packing organizers from LL Bean which may help us, but the only items we had stored under the bed were empty suitcases.

That Infinity B2B cruise was the first time we tried Aqua Class and we absolutely loved Blu. We loved the menus, which we found to be a little "cleaner" than the MDR, but it certainly is not "health food." The Blu "always available" left side of the menu has a steak offering, and you will find prime rib on the menu. It also is much quieter than the MDR. We did a cruise on the Century last October, and really missed Blu. We have a pair of B2B cruises on the Equinox coming up in April, and are so looking forward to Blu again.

Hi Merriem,

There is an existing roll call for that cruise - if you have not already joined us. . I look forward to meeting you.

We didn't notice any problems with space in our cabin, but we tend to be very light travelers, so probably not the best judge of that. We love Blu! The venue is just gorgeous and it is a much more intimate setting than the MDR. Food is much more to our liking - a little lighter, no heavy sauces, creative presentations, etc. We loved the square blue bubble plates so much we have tried to find them online! We are not fans of the noise and chaos of the MDR. We have decided we'll never cruise on X without being in AQ again!!

Hope this helps.
