Companies in Houston that rent powerchairs?

Does anyone know of a Houston medical supply companies that would deliver and pickup from a hotel. We will be staying a day pre and a day post a cruise out of Galveston and would like to rent a power chair. A few of the companies recommended by the cruise lines are too expensive. Got a quote for over $300 a week.

Sorry I can't help you, but to rent power chairs isn't cheap. Do you need a chair at home?? You might be better off getting one thru your insurance & traveling with it. My husband uses a power chair when we travel or just when going to Walmart, bigger stores. I had thought about renting one for a cruise instead of taking ours but it isn't worth it...good luck. Many medicap supply places will rent one, but mostly to pre-existing clients ( called courtesy rentals.)

I've used a national (actually in Canada) that does the co-ordination and delivery for you. I first used them at Disneyland in May of last year was very happy. Just returned from 20 days on the Emerald Princess and they delivered it to the ship and pick it up.

 

They actually contract it with a local company in the port area. There were perhaps 50 people on these two cruises who had scooters from the same company though probably not all when through Scootaround.

 

As far as price goes it was about $20.00 a day for land vacations plus $5.00 a day for insurance. It was a little less expensive for a cruise. For 20 days and insurance it was $407.00. Hope that helps.
