18 to 25 please read

Recommended Posts

I'm 25 and just got back from a trip on Voyager. This was my first cruise, and I didn't really expect to have a good time. Boy was I wrong. I had a blast. If you're into partying, there's plenty to do...the dance club from 11-4, various other bars until 1 or so, a big bash on the pool deck one night until 1 or so, etc., etc. I can't wait until my next cruise.

ANother one "converted"!

Welcome!:D

I'm about to be on my 4th cruise (Mariner in August, turning 24 on board), the first 2 were a "spring break" cruise...7 nights on norwegian with 2000+ other college students...one can guess what kind of fun that was.

Last year I went on the enchantment with the folks and my 2 brothers (18 and 20 at the time). We ended up having an awesome time...it seemed that there were only like 15 of us in the age bracket that were there to have fun...and we did...you just kinda become a big group of friends who would probably never hang out off the boat, but since you're together for 5-7 nights with noone else, noone wants to alienate themselves and everyone is friendly.

The biggest key was the dance club the first night though...I thought the casino might be a good spot (it was on the spring break cruises) but it was slow and closed down early.

Just make sure you are outgoing and friendly...relax and have a good time!!

I'm 26 now, but cruised on the Navigaor in 2003 (24 then) with my parents. Go to the dance club and find a hot girl and buy her a drink. Met tons of guys that week, i never had a boring night, and always someone to talk to at the pool. you will not be bored.

I'm 23 and just got off the Navigator two weeks ago and let me tell you - there is plenty of fun stuff for people our age to do. In fact, hanging out at the craps table, then Schooner Bar seemed to be the popular thing of our trip. Then of course there was the Dungeon, which was cool and right next to Schooner bar, so plenty of people in there. Also Boleros was a huge hit for us - tell David and Apit Heather and Nick say Hi if you go there! We really liked the both of them. There were always a bunch of people hanging out there just kicking back. I also found that when you go get some pizza after a long night of some heavy drinking - you can sit towards the back of the Promenade Cafe (conveniently open 24/7!) so you don't have to hang out with the 14 year olds - that was a little weird at first. Made me feel quite old!

Take it from a girl who will be 18 on her next cruise - we want to meet nice, fun people of the opposite sex just as much as you guys do. So don't be shy, go out there and introduce yourself on your cruise! Don't wait for the fun to come to you. At the same time, if you are a sleazeball, you won't make a lot of female friends, at least not respectable ones. Girls can tell pretty quickly if a guy has ulterior motives in why he's befriending them, and usually that doesn't go over very well. Just be outgoing and genuine.

Was the pizza any good? Heard it isn't on RCCL.

I can't compare it other cruise lines, but when I had it, it wasn't bad at all, crust was a little thick for my tastes, but I like really thin crust. Trust me, you will not go hungry.

What date are you going on the Navigator in May? We're booked for May 06, 2006. 2nd time on Navigator this time we're bringing our Harley with us onboard. Unfortunately we're no longer in the 18-25 group any longer but I don't think I remember any age group standing out to me on this ship. It used to be that only the retired cruised. I can remember a lot of families onboard. Seemed like more younger than older.

I can't say whether they are Wal-mart people though. I'm not sure how you can tell. That comment sounded a little snobby to me. We are business owners with a very comfortable income and I shop at Walmart weekly. Why buy household goods for more when you can buy them at Walmart for less! That would be crazy. What's next......telling people that Carnival attracts more Democrats than Republicans? Well, I guess that would be true if most Democrats are middle class blue collar workers. What ever!

Can't believe nobody mentioned the obvious-- help keep that bar bill under control by smuggling onboard in your luggage a couple of your best friends... Jim Beam, Johnny Walker, Malibu... you get the point. :)

I'm shy so not sure how meeting people will go.

Just remember, you're probably NEVER EVER going to see these people again. They're NOT going home to say "You know, the whole cruise was good except for this one guy in the bar one night..."

On a cruise, people are from all over the world. If anyone has anything on that even SUGGESTS a hometown or a college, ask them if they're from around that area. I wore my Ohio State jersey and got a LOT of comments about Ohio football. I wore my college mascot necklace and got asked many times what I was majoring in.

I will be 25 at the time of my first cruise next May. I will be traveling with my sister who will be 22 (almost 23), and my best friend who will be 22. (All single right now)

From our standpoint we are going just to enjoy ourselves, but we would not be opposed to meeting nice guys (aka not guys looking to hook up for the week) to hang around with on and off the ship. When I studied in Europe during college my friends and I were in Paris for the weekend and met this guy from Kansas City. We spent an evening with him and his traveling group and we traveled to Versailles the next day together. Meeting random people like that is fun... I hope we can manage to find people like that on our cruise! :)

The pizza was great to me. I was kinda drunk when I was eating it most time, so it was exceptional, but one afternoon I did grab a piece just walking through the Promenade and it was pretty good (everything tastes better when you've had a few)! I don't know why people complained about it - I could definitely tell a difference in the pizza at the buffet, though, I did not care for the pizza there at all. In fact, I didn't really love the buffet all that much - we ate either in the dining room or we ordered room service for breakfast. The little sandwiches were the boyfriend's favorite - especially the ham & cheese. He ate like 4 at a time, and when we got back, he insisted we go to Sam's so he could get the little croussaints and some ham and cheese and make a bunch of sandwiches. I thought they were good, but come on!

I was 16 on my first cruise and I thought all the activities and things onboard were so lame, so I didn't get out and meet people. But you really have to put yourself out there, even if it isn't how you normally are, if you want to meet people and have fun. I'm normally laid back and don't go out of my way to make conversation with strangers, but on a cruise, almost everyone has the mindset they are going to make new friends, so people are open to starting conversations. While you won't get along with everyone (and you shouldn't be overeager, though I doubt you would be) if you are friendly and genuine you will meet some people, and that will definitely enhance your cruise experience more than anything. Its the way a cruise works.
