lovetotravel68 Posted February 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Hi everyone, In terms of Moorea how would you rate the IC compared to the Hilton? We will either stay at the Hilton in a garden pool bungalow or the IC in a beach bungalow (with the ambassador upgrade). The cost will be the same for 4 nights including breakfast. We were wanting to swim, snorkel, lay on the beach & just relax at the resort. We wern't planning on doing any activities during this time (thought we would save them for the PG) so we will be at the resort alot Thanks :)

twin123185 Posted February 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2013 That's a pretty good comparison. Overall I still like the IC best though.
carduchi Posted February 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2013 We have stayed several times in 3 of the big 4 hotels in Moorea. We loved the Hilton (formerly a Sheraton) and stayed in both the OWB and also the garden/pool bungalow. We actually prefer the garden bungalow with private plunge pool. The Hilton also has a nice little place out over the water where you can have delicious crepes and watch the black tip reef sharks (at night). Hilton has the best snorkelling. The Pearl is also very nice having stayed in one of their garden/pool bungalows however the snorkelling is on the main channel and not nearly as good as the Hilton. The Pearl is also within walking distance to stores, shops and restaurants. The Sofitel has a lovely long beach joining onto the public beach area. Food is very pricey (you are in French Polynesia) however service is excellent. No restaurants within walking distance although most of them will pick you up and drive you back to the hotel if you call ahead. Pearl Beach seems to have competitive room prices however the Hilton has much more comfortable beds! We would go back to either the Hilton or Pearl anytime. We have visited the Intercontinental to see the dolphins but have never stayed there so really cannot comment on that property. Have fun choosing! :)
