xoxbear Posted February 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2013 Are the production shows the same on each category of ship? We are sailing on the Jewel of the Seas in March out of Tampa and the Brilliance of the Seas will be in Tampa starting in the winter. Would the production shows be the same? Thanks. No, production shows are largely unique to ships. We've seen one or two of the same named show on different ships, but that's about it.
1cat4jan Posted February 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2013 On most of our cruises, there was the standard fare of production shows, comedy shows, magician. All the productions are different - yet so much the same. Singers and dancers who are just shy of being good. I often wonder why the quality is not better with so many talented performers out there. On the Oasis, the entertainment was vastly different. There were aerialists, divers, ice skaters, improv, etc. It sure made our cruise.

Other than Hairspray and Chicago, most of the production shows are basically musical reviews. There are only so many ways that you can put together singing and dancing reviews. To me it is sort of like Cirque du Soleil. When you get right down to it, it is the same show with different music and different costumes.
