Leaving balcony door open...

My question on the strawberries.... The room steward didn't pick them up after a they start "growing stuff" on them??? :p

Stewards are really good about leaving stuff alone unless they are absolutely, 100% sure you do not want it. Even empty glasses are often left alone unless you do something to signal they are ready to be removed.

True story: just got off of the Elation on Saturday. Several others went with us. A friend decided to buy a fake purse in Mexico. The seller 'switched' the purse while she wasn't looking!! Hah. So, when she got back onboard, she was ANGRY, and tossed it in the trash. Leaves for dinner, comes back, the purse has reappeared on her bed. She tosses it in the trash again. Next morning, goes to breakfast, comes back, again, it shows up on her bed. She finally has to tell the steward she does NOT want the purse and that it IS to be thrown away.

On the Magic where is the light switch to turn on and off the balcony light? I have never had a balcony and want to do it properly :) TIA

It's next to the balcony door, check behind the curtains if you don't see it right away.

Enjoy your cruise on her! She's a great ship, plenty of things to do and lots of public space. One of the best parts was dining early in the Southern Lights. After the usual song-n-dance by the wait staff, one of the waiters would sing a couple of songs. Awesome voice, was quite a favorite with cruisers on our sailing.

On the Conquest class Carnival ships to keep the balcony door open at night to hear the waves we just open the balcony door and engage the deadbolt lock then let door close. This keeps a small gap open. No need to bungee or stick a pen or knife in the door jam. Since it isn't open much the humidity was only an issue for us once, but we cruise in January and only did this at night. We were on decks 7,8,10 and still heard the waves fine.
