Cruising from Galveston

We will be cruising from Galveston for the first time, does anyone have any recommendations for a moderately priced hotel with "cruise n park"????

We always stay at Gaidos's Seaside Inn,leave our car there & take a cab to the ship. Check out their web site for pics,etc. :)

Commodore on the Beach is also good. It is an older family owned hotel.

Lots of Hotels in Gal. will allow you to park and sail in every price range. But parking right across the street from the port is not at a bad rate less than port parking, and you save the cab fare. You can choose covered or open parking, you park your onw car and lock up the lot has security. We have tried both. I like have the car right there. Can't remember the lots name but you can find it on the net. Have a great cruise.

We always stay in Texas City and park at Lighthouse Parking. The hotel is the Candlewood Suites and it cost about $80 and Lighthouse is $45 for 7 days. The Candlewood is very clean and the staff are great. We have never had any problems parking at Lighthouse and have used them 5 times. They are right across from the port. Texas City is only about 15-20 min from port and much cheaper.

To find parking near the ship go to www.galveston.com, then go to "What to do" then click on "Cruising from Galveston", then click on "cruise parking", then do the search. That is if you want to park in this area.

Also go to the pre-cruise stay on the same page as cruise parking and it has a list of hotels that has cruise parking at the hotels. Do not know the prices of them.
