Yes, your luggage is taken from you by staff before boarding...except what you would like to carry on with you...which you will carry around until the cabin is ready unless you are VIP.

Don't leave your luggage at the airport. You will have to bring it to the port. Once at the port, you will hand your luggage to a porter (they will also appreciiate a tip), and then take the bus over to the building where you will go through the screenings of your carry-ons, get your sign and sale cards, etc.
