Mom and DD going it alone- NCL vs RCCL

I haven't cruised in 10 years but am looking to take my 8yo DD this Thanksgiving. I am considering both The Epic (NCL) out of NYC and The Explorer of the Seas (RCCL) out of NJ. Is one kids club better? I want to make sure she has a great time. Also, Any tips for single parents on board?

Thanks so much,

Jane

I'd go with RCCL because of the set dining (as opposed to NCL's open seating) and I'd request a large table. It's a nice way to get to know others. Cruising is a great way to go for an adult sailing alone with a child because there are so many opportunities to socialize - at meals in the MDR, joining games and acitivies and on excursions. Plus, joining your roll call.

Also, be sure you bring proof that you're allowed to take your child out of the country (custody papers, birth certificate showing you're the only parent, etc. whatever your situation is).

Have a great time.

Best,

Mia
