vg247 Posted March 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2013 Hi everyone, We will be on the Dawn 3/24 sail date with stops in Roatan, Belize, Cozumel, and Costa Maya and I like to have some feedback as to whether currency exchange is necessary and would be recommended before hand upon arrival? We have excursions already booked and wasn't sure if being at each port, USD or credit cards are readily taken for the small meals and drinks like water. Or whether local currency is more favorable as in exchange rates considerations the expenditures seem so minimal. Many thanks for your thoughts in advance. CapeCodCruiser Posted March 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2013 Your credit card & USD are readily accepted in those ports. Generally change will be given in local currency and shops do not give the best exchange rate but for small purchases it is usually not enough to worry about. For large purchases use your credit card or take enough local currency from an ATM. You can usually find them in the shopping areas.

Other than water and food we don't plan on having any large purchases so will stick with denominations in USD, not worrying about currency exchange then.
