Reflection Art Studio, Game Room and Room question

Hi- so I'm a bit late to the game in posting as our cruise leaves 3/9 but my husband and I are going on our 2nd cruise ever and 2nd with Celebrity on the Reflection (1st was Solstice- loved it!). Any one who has been on Reflection- or similar ships- I was wondering the following:

1. How does the Art studio work? Do you have to pay? Does it get crowded and is it worth the time?

2. I've read in the boards something about a game room? What is that?

3. Last time on Solstice we had a great room- based on price this time we chose a 2C cabin 6266... I wasn't able to find info on this room in the sticky- was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. I'm nervous since it's above the casino- I think.

Thanks for any help!

I don't think the casino will be an issue. Your cabin is categorized as 'partially obstructed' view, which means that the top of the lifeboats will be at the bottom of your balcony--you will be able to see out but not straight down. If you got a great price on this room, it'll be totally worth the minor blockage.

Enjoy your cruise!!!

The Art Studio has some free classes and some that you have to pay for. If you are interested, you should go up to the studio when you first get on board (as the free classes can fill up quick).

The Game Room was nice, on one of the top decks. From what I remember, it had ping-pong tables, maybe Wii stations, and televisions. It was a nice bright location on the port side of the ship.

Enjoy your cruise!

The Art Studio opens at 4:30 on the first day and if you want to do a class, you'd better be there at 4:30!!

We went to several of the classes, free as well as with a cost and they ALL had a waiting list! While I will preface this with the fact that we had a good time at all of them, I will say that if we did not have any experience, we'd have been lost. The teacher (Linda) was quite disorganized and did not have time to spend with anyone as the classes were so full.

Our group wanted to do the semi-precious bracelet class, but I wasn't sure if we would make it into the class, so I went to a craft shop before we left and brought along makings. We did those on our balcony the first at-sea day and had a ball. We went to the class and were quite disappointed. I understand that this is a money maker for them, but I do NOT think it was worth the $20 we paid.....but hey, we're on vacation......

Thanks to you all for your comments! Each have been very helpful!

@CaroleSS: I was very interested in the art studio as I dabble in different arts as a hobby. I was thinking it may get hard to manage as teaching art projects to a ship the size of the Reflection may get complicated!

@Pushkin: thank you for the tips! The game room sounds like something I'd like to check out! I am definitely going to enjoy it all! I've been waiting for this since we pulled into port from our last cruise!

@CathyCruises: thank you for the insight about the room! I was really worried about it as I've always heard never be a floor above or below common area floors. But with the price and 123 deal I couldn't refuse!

Thanks again to all!!

We also did the 123 promotion....upgraded prior to boarding to the premium. I will say it was GREAT!!!! ( not sure it would have bee so great if we'd have paid full price. :o)

It was nice to just swipe the card and go,no signing, no worries. We tried some things we wouldn't have otherwise and did wine pairings with dinner. I do think that there were a bunch of us on the sailing as the bars were packed most times and getting a drink at times required some patience, but we worked around it.

I'm sure you'll have a great time...enjoy!!

If it is Linda I'm thinking of, she was just learning what to do the week of Feb 9. Apparently, one week of instruction and she was on her own.

The crafts were fairly simple, at least the jewelry ones were. I learned a couple of things, so I was glad to have those takeaways.

The game room you are referring to is the new Game On, exclusive to Reflection. It has a variety of electronic games - fun!

I did 2 classes at the art studio -my advice using to sign up on the first day.

I have pics and more info in my review.
