Luggage question

My wife and I are sailing on the Dream in April. What are your experiences with carrying on all your luggage? We will each be taking a carry-on size suitcase plus backpack and don't see the need to check our bags. Is this unusual or do many people do this? Are we limited to what we can carry on ourselves? Thanks for your help in advance. This might sound silly but I would like to be unpacked as soon as possible. :)

Remember that most times when you board the rooms aren't ready, so you have to take them wherever you go.

We do it all the time - in fact we haven't checked a bag in over 15 years for any type of travel. FTTF is very convenient for carry-on - your room is ready when you board - no taking your carry-on with you.

I think that is totally doable. As long as you are fine carrying it on yourself, you will be okay.

The only 'problem' will be waiting for your cabin to open if you get there too early.

I did forget to mention that we booked FTTF so we would be able to go right to our room. Thanks for all the replies.:)
