gtaylor Posted June 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2005 I can tell you what the official posted taxi fees were recently. Dock to Marigot: 1 or 2 people $15 Marigot to Orient: Not posted, but similar distance, guess 1 or 2 people $15 - $18 Orient to dock: 1 or 2 people $18 (reverse trip of posted fare) Cheaper if you share a van. The official SXM Taxi Association site has been down for a while, but I captured this page earlier.

goldenprincess53 Posted June 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2005 We shared a van with approx. 8 others and it was $10/person from the end of the dock to Orient Beach. Same price for return trip.

mom2bcr Posted August 6, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2005 I have the same question - how easy is it to catch a taxi at Orient Beach? Are they readily available??
kal Posted August 6, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2005 There are lots of taxis just waiting for you. Best to catch one at Pedros. Sometimes they like to wait until the van is filled but that's probably only about 10 minutes or so. When full, you get the el cheapo price per person. mom2bcr Posted August 6, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2005 Great info! Thanks! I keep reading about Pedros. What is it? A bar/restaurant?
kal Posted August 7, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2005 Pedros is a bar, often with live music, and they serve food.
Sun R Bunns Posted August 11, 2005 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2005 I hear traffic can congest from Orient to the peir or vice versa. How much time would be realistic to allow? ps. I found a coupon for Pedro's plus their menu on their website. I don't have the link right now, but a google should find it.
