vg247 Posted March 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2013 Hello fellow NCL crusiers, We will be on the 3/24 Dawn sailing which ports in Cozumel 3/29. Changed our minds on the Tulum excursion currently booked with NCL for the day as it appears to entail a lot of time wasted having to take the ferry and bus transport to Tulum, so we will cancel that. I like to spend some time on the beach just to relax , be in the water, where its hopefully not too crowded and wanted to get some advice as to which beaches fellow cruisers have liked to go to from the Port with beautiful clear water and great food nearby? As always your feedback is most appreciated ( we ' re first time cruisers )
bagzrpacked Posted March 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2013 When we were in Cozumel in January, we stopped in Paradise Beach and that is a pretty big complex with a pool, beach, lots of beach chairs, blow up toys in the water, trampoline, and some kayaks. It was free for us to get it but we had to pay $2.00 per person to sit in chairs. This is a busy place. Drinks were pricey and the food looked good but we ended up leaving. We went further down the road to Alberto's Beach Bar and it was nice. They have a quiet sandy beach, decent drink prices ($3. 00 beers) and a full menu that includes fresh fish. They have ladies that give massages too. It was perfect for us. Paradise Beach is good if you have kids. There are some pictures of Alberto's on trip advisor. Have a good time.... Cozumel is a very nice port.... Don't waste time getting off the boat :-)
punkincc Posted March 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2013 You might consider a private beach club. The roll call on our cruise to Cozumel raved about Nachi-Cocum. It also gets good reviews on the Trip Advisor forum. They only sell 100 tx per day. It was sold out when we enquired. You would have to sign up in advance. pmcue Posted March 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2013 we have done NACHI COCOM and it is a very nice, laid back experience. Nothing too fancy but they restrict to 100 people and it is not a resort, it is a stand alone beach club. Great place.
Love my butler Posted March 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Paradise beach is awesome and clean. The food was horrible.
vg247 Posted March 17, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Thanks everyone, Nachi is booked for our Port day, and since my spouse and I don't drink we are going to do the Pay as you go with Mr Sanchos rather than their AI day pass and Playa Palancar as a backup plan in case either beaches are too crowded. Any other feedback much appreciated.
