Mislaid Posted March 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Having lurked about on these boards for many months now I've been able to answer most of my queries from the excellent posts on here.....many thanks!! We're first time cruisers sailing on NCL Epic in July. We're planning on DIY in all ports - partly because the cruise tours are a rip-off & partly because we've travelled extensively in Europe, are happy using public transport & like being independant. In Marseille we are planning on taking the regional train to Aix but my query relates to how to get from the ship to the train station. From reading other reviews it appears to me that NCL charge $20 each to get to the Old Port & we'd then need to get to the train station. For 3 of us for the same money (roughly...) we could get a taxi straight to the train station but that only works if the taxis are where the cruise ship docks & not at the port gate but I can't seem to find the answer to that on this board. Does anyone know? Also, how easy is it to get a taxi...I note from the Livorno threads that the taxis aren't interested in doing the short journeys & even if they will do it, is there a long queue? Many thanks Caroline :)
