Hotel Help

We are arriving in Vancouver on Friday morning, but our cruise does not leave until Saturday. Can anyone recommend an area to stay in that is convenient for sightseeing and not too far from the port since we aren't planning on getting a car? We would prefer to stay at a Westin or Sheraton if there is one so we can use points.

Both the Westin Grand and the Westin Bayshore Inn are about 10/12 blocks from Canada Place. The Grand will put you a little closer to everything but the Bayshore's location adjacent Stanley Park and the yacht harbour is pretty compelling. The Sheraton at Wall Centre is about 11 blocks from Canada Place and is close to a lot of things like shops and restaurants. For a first time visitor I would probably go with the Bayshore with it's proximity to Stanley Park, HOHO stops and restaurants

I would check out the Fairmont. They have two hotels right at Canada Place. The Pan Pacific is actually part of Canada Place Cruise Terminal.

Both Fairmont properties are great hotels as is the Pan Pacific but none of them are part of the part of the Starwood Group where the OP can use their points which is their preference. So it is a Westin or a Sheraton in Vancouver or they pay.
