Sorry l have searched but cant find what im looking for. How easy is it to do this,l imagine the ferry is close to the ship but all l can find is two small ferries doing the crossing so l am concerend about not being able to get on board and then back again. Has anyone done this this themselves, the £46 for the cruise trip is a bit steep. Thanks

Hi

It is very easy to visit Sark independantly. The website is http://www.sarkshipping.com. Return fares are £27.80 for an adult. If you book a ticket, then there would be no issue getting onboard and back. This company is the only company who run ferry services to Sark from Guernsey. If you would prefer to wait until you land in Guernsey, then the ticket office is not far from where the tenders dock. This may be the best option, as I am unsure if you book, and then it is too rough for the tenders to run, whether you will receive a refund. Perhaps you could send the company an email to check. Please note that the crossing takes about 45 minutes, and is very nice on a calm day, but not so nice when it is rough (another reason to decide on the day). The Sark ferries leave quite close to where the tenders dock. The cruise passengers would be on the same ferry as independant passengers, hence if there were any issues, the ship would need to wait for those booked on the tour anyway.

There is also another island close by, which you can only reach by ferry, that is Herm. It is a beautiful small island, with lovely beaches.

I hope this helps, and enjoy your visit to Guernsey and its surounding islands. If you have any other questions, please post and I will try to answer them.
