Destiny Refurbishing?

Have read that the Destiny in going to be refurbished, later this year.

 

Anyone have any information, on how extensive are the renovations going to be? Or is this more of routine maintenance?

Carnival never really annouces what will take place during drydocking. I would imagine new carpets,bedding, fixing anything that has been neglected.

At least I know that Carnival is maintaining the Destiny, so it shouldn't show it's age.

Ours is 1/29/06, so will be looking for updated information on Destiny's refurbishing.

Looking at Carnival.com sailing dates for the Destiny this fall it shows the Destiny's last cruise before drydock is going to be September 4th and she will resume again on October 2nd.

Hi!

 

There is a group of 14 of us, 4 families, traveling on the Destiny over Christmas also, to celebrate my in-laws 50th.

 

Never traveled Carnival before, twive on Royal Carribbean Serenade which was WONDERFUL - what can I expect on Destiny?!

We sailed on the Serenade also; last February. Celebrity's Constellation, before that.

 

First cruise on Carnival(Destiny), next January.

 

Don't know what to expect either?

 

Serenade Of The Seas is our favorite, so far......................

We also sailed on the Serenade a year ago Christmas week and loved it. I chose the Destiny for the ports of call but I am glad it is going to get freshened up:D

myself and 151 of my closest friends our booked on destiny on her first cruise out of drydock. i hope it goes smooth and isn't delayed.that would stink. anybody ever been on a maiden cruise out of drydock for refurbishing?

I know for fact that it is stem to stern refurb (carpeting, linens, etc.) for about a month in the fall. She'll be a new ship when she's done!
