taffy12 Posted June 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2005 I'm looking to buy the Royal Caribbean cookbook off ebay since I didn't get one on the ship, and I just wanted to make sure that it's what I want. I see two are coming up: one by Rudi Sodamin, and one for Holidays and Entertaining. I'd want the first one, correct? That's the main one that would have more of the dishes they prepared on the ship for dinner and such, correct? One more question. I know this is a lot to ask and would take a little time, but would anyone who owns either cookbook mind typing out the list of recipes they include? Or could you direct me to a site that lists them? I hate to buy stuff blind... Again, I know it's a lot to ask, but I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so much if you can!

I hate to buy stuff blind... Again, I know it's a lot to ask, but I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so much if you can! I have two cookbooks both by Rudi Sodamin. The Holiday and Entertaining one I purchased on Voyager in 2003. The Royal Caribbean International Cookbook I purchased Jan 2004 on Majesty. I do not know if there are any others out yet. All the recipes in the books are items that they prepare on the different ships. Some things even have names that reflect which ship they are featured on ie the Legend-ary Lamb served on LOS. Some recipes are more reflective of the ports of call and some are Rudi's interpretations that are served on RCCL. I can tell you that I have used both books a number of times and have enjoyed the meals very much. It is just a shame that I have to cook, serve and clean up:rolleyes: . Where is my waiter to do these things for me? I will be looking on Sovereign in August for a new cookbook, but as I said I do not know if there are any others but these two. I don't know where you could look to see if there were others. I don't know about typing in the list of recipes (there are a lot), but I might be able to scan it and send it to you. If you like, email me at vsnyder1@nycap.rr.com and I will try to scan them in for you. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions just let me know. stretch Posted June 17, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2005 Why not just book another cruise? I bought a cookbook (Rudy) on our first RCI cruise in 2002, my DW bought another one on our 2003 cruise. Same cookbook, in fact I think its about as old at the Pirate on the first night thing.:D Stretch
PhinsAndGills Posted June 17, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2005 Why not just book another cruise? Okay - good plan. We got our cookbook on our honeymoon and the head chef, our waiter, and our table buddies autographed it. It's our favorite cruise-reminder... :)
stretch Posted June 17, 2005 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2005 Our book was also signed by the chef on the Explorer, the head waiter, and our waiter and asst. waiter. I just can't believe that they haven't come out with other cookbooks. With RCI's repeat customer base, it makes sense to me that they would try to have new cookbooks every year or two, not the same one for over 3 years. So there you go! You have the contents of both books! :D ENJOY!
