LocardsChild Posted April 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2013 We're docking in Majorca at 1 PM and want to spend a few hours dipping our toes in the water and strolling around town. Someone recommend C'an Pere Antoni as an easy beach to get to since we want to stay near Palma and just stroll. Has anyone been there? Is it a public beach, or fee based? Is there an easier one to get to close to the port and Palma? TIA! B
CathyK2 Posted April 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2013 We just got back from Mallorca and since we rented a car to explore the beauty of the west coast, we didn't go to your beach in question. Didn't do any beaches. With that said, I'm answering in hopes of bringing your note up top so others will see it and perhaps be able to help since there were no replies. I hope you have a wonderful time there. It is a beautiful island. Cathy

philivey Posted April 25, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2013 I've been to El arenal beach, it's not far from Palma at all. If you have the chance to rent a car instead would be great to go to playa es trenc....faboulous, white sandy beach, clear water, and we were the only tourists there! lovelyseitz Posted July 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2013 Seeing that this thread was months ago, I'm guessing you're back from the trip. We too arrive at 1pm and want just a relaxing beach day. Any tips or suggestions?
The 4 of Us Posted March 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Any suggestions on a beach to visit for a few hours during our visit that is easy to get to from the port?
LondonTowner Posted March 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2014 The best beaches are a bit of a distance away from Palma and would be best accessed by renting a car. The nearest beaches to Palma are C'an Pastilla, El Arenal or Illetas. All Spanish beaches are public beaches, so there is no charge to go onto them, but you will need to pay for sunbeds and sunshades if you use them. Elmartellama Posted March 22, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 22, 2014 The easiest thing to do is take the number 3 bus to Illetes, very frequent. You can take the bus at Portopi shopping centre, not far from the port. http://www.emtpalma.es/EMTPalma/Front/lineas.ct.svr?accion=entrada&cod_linea=3 Not the best beach since it is usually crowded and too many buildings around, but the water and the sand are usually clean.
