Regatta to Alaska ??

Wow it is great to hear from someone who will be on the boat with us. Have you done an Alaskan cruise before? We don't have rain proof pants, I hate to buy them as I can't see using them again.

I did not want "rain pants" either so we used ponchos. They aren't necessarily attractive but will also provide coverage for cameras, backpacks, purses, totes, whatever you're carrying. Mine is long enough that it goes below my knees and i can shake it out, wad it up and stick it back into its stuff sack and back into the tote/backpack when it stops raining.

 

I also carry a shower cap with me and use it over the camera. It is cheap, easily replaceable and does a wonderful job of covering. I simply remove it when I'm taking pix and then pop it back on.

 

As I said, I'm not going to win any prizes for fashion but it does the trick!
