We plan to rent a car in Cozumel. I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of how long it takes to make the circle around the island? I'm trying to decide about how many stops we can make. Thanks!

Depending on what traffic you run into in San Miguel, I wouldn't think over an hour and a half, but 2 hours is what is suggested, I believe

When you go with a chauffeured tour they usually allow about 3 hours so that's a ballpark figure for you. The island is only about 32 miles long from the far north end to the southern tip and about 12 miles across so if you just drove and never stopped, you could take in the whole thing in little more than an hour. But I'm sure that's not what you have in mind. The extra 2 hours are for stopping. I'd allow 5 hours so you can really do things in a leisurely fashion and stop where you like for as long as you like.

I am glad that I found this thread.. I was wondering if the map from http://www.cancunmap.com/ was any good. You certainly can't complain about their purchase method.. they send you the map first, then you send them a check!

The Cozumel map from cancunmap.com is EXCELLENT!!! Well worth the money.
