PJ's Posted April 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2013 We are booked on the 3-night cruise with Ventura on the 31/05/13 and our e-ticket shows check in at 15.30. As we are staying at a hotel on the outskirts of Southampton the previous night would it be possible to leave our car and luggage at the terminal at about 12 noon so that we can then go for a walk around the city before checking in? Not sure if luggage is taken to your cabin for a 3-night cruise or whether you have to take your own. We have booked a parking space with CPS. Any info appreciated. Brayman Posted April 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Yes, should be fine, at that time you could even check in and go and get some lunch before the masses arrive.
PJ's Posted April 24, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Our e-ticket says check in at 15.30. Don't want to risk having a long wait in the terminal as I've heard some people have been waiting to board for 2-3hrs because they were early checking in. Would much rather have a walk around Southampton and get to the terminal about 2.30pm. Do you know if they take luggage to cabins for 3-night cruises or not? nhamer04 Posted April 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2013 We just came back off a 4 night Azura cruise, stayed in Southampton the night before & booked CPS parking. Our check in time said 15.30, we drove to terminal at 11am, opened the boot at arrivals and our luggage was taken, car key taken and we left the car with them to park. Checked in and on the ship by 11.45am, cabin wont be available till around 2pm but you can enjoy the ship till then and have lunch in the buffet restaurant. On returning, through customs and across the CPS porta cabin for car key collection and straight to car and out. Very quick and easy!

Just go when you are ready, you may have to wait half an hour but that would be tops. You will not be held until the time on your ticket. silver service Posted April 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Sometimes, if you quietly check out your cabin a little before 2. You will find it ready. Works for me! Of course, they do not want everyone Invading, the cabins before the announcement, it would be chaos!
PJ's Posted April 24, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Thank you to everyone for your prompt replies. Will take your advice and drive straight to the port after booking out of our hotel. Looking forward to the Ventura as never been on her before. She seems very similar to Azura who we cruised on earlier this year. Roll on end May!!!!!
