Emerald Deck on Golden Princess

Anyone familiar with the cabins on the Emerald Deck on the Golden Princess. We just were assigned to cabin E 403 for our cruise on the Golden. It technically is an "upgrade" as we booked the cheapest obstructed ocean view. However, I am concerned about possible noise coming from the lounge area which is below us.

Thanks for your help.

We stayed a bit down from there and never heard a thing.

We were just in E220 on the Golden a few weeks ago, and yes you could vaguely hear the theatre productions forward during rehearsal and in the evenings but it wasn't any louder than the sound of the water hitting the side of the ship during rough seas.

Interesting tidbit of note is that on the port side Forward there is a crew bar, so you will see a lot of staff heading down the corridor at the ends of their shifts.

Some people staying in the aft most mini suites on the starboard side have mentioned hearing some bass vibration from the lounge. I don't recall a post where it was said to be unbearable. I have stayed in the Vista Suite on the opposite side of the ship and am doing so again on our next cruise. We have never heard a peep as the stage and speakers are on the starboard side. You will be fine.

You should have no problems. And your upgrade is a good one. Go to this site and you can see the view you'll have: http://https://sites.google.com/site/cabinviewbyrenmar

Also, have stayed in midship cabins on Emerald deck 3 times on 3 transatlantic cruises. We were immediately above Crooners Lounge all three times. On only two occasions, out of 47 nights, did we ever hear anything. On that cruise, the piano player really boosted his amp and we heard a low murmur of music for a few minutes as we were getting into bed. But the piano players always stop by midnight, so unless you're trying to sleep before midnight, you'll never hear anything.
