MrsJones02 Posted April 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Does anyone know where my husband and I can go for a massage on the beach. Heard they're better and cheaper than on the ship. Will be there in less than 2 weeks. Thanks!

ddy123 Posted December 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2013 ArubaLisa - the Manchebo Resort looks wonderful. Do they offer Day Passes as well? Would be great to spend the day here. DH requires shade for health reasons so wondering whether it is at all likely that we would secure palapas? We arrive early in the morning. The resort looks like something we would consider for a land based vacation to celebrate our 20th anniversary, so this would give us a great way to check out the resort in advance. Thanks! ddy123 Posted December 1, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Apologies - should have done a search first before asking.:o I see there are no Day Passes. Any chance there is a place adjacent and within walking distance to Manchebo that would offer day passes with shade? We are traveling with our two teen daughters so my DH and I could take turns getting a massage while one parent stays with the girls. Thanks! Hatteras51 Posted December 1, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2013 The closest place to Manchebo that allows cruisers to rent shade and chairs in MVC. You can walk to Manchebo from there in about 10 minutes or less. I would make a reservation for the mesage if I were you, just to make sure they have time during your visit. Arubalisa Posted December 1, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2013 No, Manchebo does not sell day passes, however, according to their brochure http://914251655.r.cdn77.net/pdf/spa-del-sol-brochure.pdf, Manchebo offers use of their spa facilities free with treatments. If you reserve a package or treatment I would simply ask if it is possible to spend the day at the resort. And at least offer to pay an additional fee for the pleasure by inquiring what the added fee would be. Hopefully they would say that you would be welcome to stay free of charge, or at worst, for a modest fee. Otherwise what Hatteras suggested...the walk from Manchebo to MVC Eagle Beach is about half a mile down the beach.

pxy cda Posted January 8, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2014 That's an excellent idea Arubalisa. Thanks so much! My DH and I spent a wonderful few hours at Manchebo a couple years back. We arrived by local bus. We checked in, got our lockers and swam in the ocean We then spent some time in the hot tub right on the beach This was followed by a eucalyptus steam room Then the massage! It was marvelous! just like the picture and just the right amount of pressure. After the massage, we were ready for the ship so we headed back via bus and spent the rest of our time exploring the port. Note when booking check what CC they take - I recall we had to scramble for cash when they didn't take AMEX. It is very easy to get to and a really nice spot. I recommend!:)
