mephistoles Posted April 28, 2013 #51 Share Posted April 28, 2013 we had an african american gentleman.. i believe from cambodia. meaning i have no idea what his name was :/ I had to read this one twice ... Anyway, we'll be cruising in August and I'm very much looking forward to it. Great review!
mephistoles Posted April 28, 2013 #52 Share Posted April 28, 2013 good mornin jamaica watching the arrival from the "secret deck" sooooooooo i've been to jamaica before. back in 2009 we went not knowing what we would do. we got off the ship and just found a tour company. we asked them to take us to dunns river falls and got to experience that. after dunns river we asked olive the tour operator from juta tours how much for a tour of jamaica. she gave us a good deal for $10 per person and it lasted about 1.5 hrs. this time we planned on the same thing. we got off the boat and went to the little blue mountain coffee place to the left of the port area and bought wifi for $3 for 2 hours. we only needed it for a few minutes, so off we went to the taxis. i found 2 people standing to the side and they worked for the same juta company. we asked how much for a tour and he said 10$ each to the falls.. $20 at the falls per person for entry. we accepted.. got into this tiny van (last tour in 2009 was a very nice van). he continued to bring people and was squeezing everyone in. we got to the falls and decided we did not want to pay $20 a person to go to the falls because I had saw them before. He charged us $25 for a "tour" while the others went to the falls. i clearly explained to him that last time, his coworker olive took us to an overlook of jamaica and we were able to stop and have a red stripe and buy some knick nacks and thats what i wanted to do. he basically took us up into the "canopy" of the rainforest and brought us to some sketchy place off the road selling all kinds of things. this is not what i asked, but whatever. i was over it. after this i told him to talk us to scotchies to get some jerk chicken. sooo glad we did this.. AMAZING FOOD!!!!! canopy roadside selling I want to try a "non-Carnival" excursion to Dunn's River Falls but I'm so afraid of missing the boat. Ugh! Great review! lol i know i know. read above. i corrected it. he was basically from africa at some point in his life, but he became a us citizen and his parents are now in the us and thats where he was going when he went on vaca. i barely heard him talking to someone next to us about it. sorry for any confusion :)
SPKEMO Posted April 28, 2013 #54 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Good review. You really seem to love the 'Lux' feature on Instagram. You seem to apply it on every photo prior to a filter.

Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #56 Share Posted April 28, 2013 One morning we woke up and were getting ready when my bf looked at the sheets or something. We noticed a blood spot the size of a pinky nail. It wasn't leaked to the mattress protector, so we know it was not us. We called guest services and they sent housekeeping. Housekeeping guy said all the stains don't come off of the sheets. I understand, but it does not make it any less "gross". I'll spare you all the photo. ANother thing that happened that really upset us was the last night of the cruise. I was asleep and my boyfriend was watching tv. All of a sudden some employee just walked into the room?? It was not our room steward. The employee did not even attempt to knock on the door and this was at 10:30pm. We called guest services to complain and they said they would investigate and no one ever contacted us back  Uncalled for and there is no excuse. SPKEMO Posted April 28, 2013 #57 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Actually, its not from instagram :) IG or not, it's still a Lux filter that you are applying to almost everything. I think that is was someone that commented earlier wanted to know. The photos don't just come out looking like this with your HDR setting on our camera or phone. You need to apply the Lux filter afterwards to make them look like that.
Danacat222 Posted April 28, 2013 #58 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Good review. You really seem to love the 'Lux' feature on Instagram. You seem to apply it on every photo prior to a filter. I have a Sony Cyber-shot, it's a HDR picture effect feature...it is built into the camera, no treatment needed after the pic is taken. There is a paining effect too.. Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #61 Share Posted April 28, 2013 my pasta side bf's carbonara.. he did not care for it too full for dessert. good night sun beautiful lady martini from the limelight lounge. which brings me to a "bad". the line to get into the adult comedy was atrocious. i have never experienced this on my other 2 cruises. the line was SO damn long.. we attempted to go several times and every time was like a can with sardines packed in. NO THANKS!! Here is a tip carnival that many people were complaining about.. if you have something you KNOW is popular, put it in a bigger area. I understand you have those shows, but maybe hold the comedy for AFTER the shows in the theatre. I missed out on these shows because I didn't feel like I should have to stand in line for 45 minutes in advance to watch a cruise ship comedian. FAIL. TIP 8 --> IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A SEAT FOR COMEDY GET TO THE SHOW 45MIN- 1 HR IN ADVANCE OR FORGET ABOUT IT. CARNIVAL THINKS IT'S CUTE TO MAKE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE PACK INTO A LITTLE ROOM FOR COMEDY SHOWS. ALSO, I HEARD SOMEONE SAY OUT OF ALL THE CRUISE SHIPS, THE LIMELIGHT LOUNGE ON THE BREEZE IS THE SMALLEST.
