avalon007 Posted April 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Hi, Can anyone who has actually snorkeled in both Red Hill & Kealakekua Bay advise if one is far superior to the other, or much the same since they are both part of the same marine park? Thanks.:)

diverearl Posted May 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Hi, Can anyone who has actually snorkeled in both Red Hill & Kealakekua Bay advise if one is far superior to the other, or much the same since they are both part of the same marine park? Thanks.:) Here is what divers and snorkelers have posted on Shore diving .com http://www.shorediving.com/Earth/Hawaii/TBI/Kealakekua/index.htm I've never done any diving at Kealakekua Bay but I can say some of the better diving on the island is at the Captain Cook Monument not far from this location. If you are not carrying dive gear but just going to snorkel there is a trail going down to the monument but be ready for a pretty good hike back up, well worth the effort though. Two Steps (also in the same area) is a great alternate if time is a real factor and Spinner Dolphins often frequent Two Steps so there is a decent chance to be in the water with them at this spot.
