cutetrill Posted April 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2013 We'll be in Anchorage on a Sunday and the people mover bus systems buses are few and far between on that day for us. Plus I don't want to have to worry about any sort of schedule. So we're looking for a taxi service to get us around town. Which company gets the best reviews as far as promptness? AKman2495 Posted April 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Anchorage cab companies are an interesting lot.But I always call Yellow Cab. They do a good job and their phone number is easy to remember 907 222 2222.
PennyAgain Posted April 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2013 I've used Yellow cab as well. Prompt? Well, it depends on weather, traffic and your location.
cutetrill Posted April 30, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Hmm, just for the heck of it I looked at car rental places and Dollar/Thrifty has a rental place literally a block from our hotel (Super 8), where I can rent a cheap car for the day and a half we need it for $32. That seems kinda worth it to me, especialy seeing as how it's a 3 minute walk to the place..

I live 5 miles from the airport (7 stoplights) and it runs between $14.25 and $15 before tip. So, for $32 you'll get a long more for your buck!
