Cremation services on Carnival

Can someone point me to the right forum, or tell me about what Carnival does for burial at sea services? John Heald told me that we can do a service for my mom, who passed away last week...my cruise is in October, but I wanted to see what the procedure is....do I need a bio-degradable urn, or how does all that work? Thanks so much!:)

Iv'e read reviews on these ceremonies on HAL and Princess. They were very similar.

 

The time and place is up to the Captain. Done on a sea day. Everything has to be biodegradable, including flowers. The families were given certificates stating the date, time and coordinates of the event.

You do need a biodegradable ern. I think they walk you down to deck 0 aft, where you (I think) release the ern into the water. Thats what I've gathered.

 

The other details, you will probably need to get from Carnival. If John notifies the crew, I'm sure you'll be made aware of their proceedure after getting in touch with them.

Thanks so much! I had contacted John, and all he said was YES, they can do a service, and to get in touch with him a few days before my cruise, and he will arrange it....but I needed DETAILS! lol....thanks so much, and thanks for the thread, going to check it out right now!:D
