graycliff Posted June 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2005 I was wondering will we be missing anything if we do the second seating on Mariner. I especially want to attend the Welcome Aboard Parade and the Ice Skating. Please share your thoughts. Thanks
jillybabes Posted June 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2005 The welcome aboard parade is held at 10:45 so you will not miss it if you opt for second seating. Ice Skating shows are held at different times throughout the week. I think there were 4 shows. You will attend the nightly shows before dinner sometimes. We had the late seating last time on Mariner and are going back to early seating this time. We feel that 8:30 is too late to start to eat dinner, by the time you are finished in the dining room it is after 10:30 and you are too stuffed to go to sleep (if you have to get up early the next day for an excursion etc). IMHO the early seating works out better, after dinner you have the night ahead of you to decide what you want to do: go to show, casino, or just stroll the promenade and people watch! Hope this helps  Jill
Iamthesea Posted June 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2005 The only problem we saw with late seating was that some of the children in our party were late to several scheduled children's activities. My opinion on late seating. More time in port and down time before dinner. I am so stuffed after dinner, that we walk around a bit, but I am ready for bed before long. Eating too much makes me sleepy. If I ate earlier, I would also be stuffed and sleepy, so my night would end much earlier. :D

To the original poster: Remember that if your dinner seating would require you to miss something, you have other options. You can eat it the Windjammer, order room service, or hit one of the specialty restautaurants for just that night.
