thefish Posted June 2, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2004 http://www.foodtips.com/fostersiga/republixmap.htm this site should give you an arial photo map of the fosters grocery store near cemetery beach that is down from 7 mile beach. the home site also has locations and hours of the other fosters in GC. By the look of things Fosters is just over 400 yards to the entrance to cemetery beach. The narrow path from the road to the beach runs along the side of the cemetery nearest to fosters. The cemetery is that big white square near the number 5 in the arial photo. Fosters has a deli where you can pick up sandwiches, water and even jerk chicken for a picnic on the beach. It does not sell beer or alchohol unles things have changed since I was there. The Deli is closed on Sunday's as is most of the supermarket (blue laws). As I remember, there was not any facilities or vendors on Cemetary Beach, just sand, trees for shade and water. My last visit there was a porta potty near the entrance but I would not count on it. thanks -
izzyvet Posted June 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2004 I was just at cemetary beach last week. Very nice beach, but no facilities. The reef was nice, not very big, but with lots of fish and a huge variety. The reef is pretty far out, about a 10 minute swim for me. Go out past the white bouys for the best snorkeling. The water was some of the clearest I have ever snorkeled in. We took a cab, it was about $5 per person. To get back we took the bus, only $2.50 per person. We stayed there a few hours. No lounge chairs or anything here, but as previously stated, lots of trees and shade.
