mace1942 Posted May 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Had an interesting reply to a cruise price enquiry to US travel agent from UK. 'As of April 3 2013 US Travel Agents are no longer allowed to sell Celebrity Cruises to international clients'. Is Celebrity blocking yet another channel for UK and other international clients to get the deals that US citizens have access to?
knowehead Posted May 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Is this because of the high airfares the us residents have to pay to get to European embarkation points that they get all the perks? Is Celebrity blocking yet another channel for UK and other international clients to get the deals that US citizens have access to? I have booked through a US Travel Agent AFTER this date and have my confirmation, Celebrity have charged the deposit to my Amex card and yesterday we even had our stateroom assigned (we booked a guarantee). Is this because of the high airfares the us residents have to pay to get to European embarkation points that they get all the perks? Sent from my iPad using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app UK citizens have to pay the same high airfares to get to Caribbean, Panama Canal, Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda and Asia cruises. In fact our Air passenger tax is the highest in the world:mad: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2191749/Complaints-UK-air-passenger-tax-rise-highest-world.html
