Jewel of the Seas- refrigerator for medication?

We've just placed a deposit on the Jewel sailing the Southern Caribbean in August of this year. My son is on a mediation (not insulin), that needs to be refrigerated. Royal has noted a request for a fridge for our staterooms (one's an E1 and the other is an interior across the hallway). The medication has to be stored at between 36 and 46 degrees, but not frozen. Does anyone have experience with storing meds on this ship? I'm concerned that the mini fridge temperature will be too low. Thanks for your help.

In my experience, however non of it on Jewel of the Seas, the fridges are not very cold, they do keep things cool. You might want to discuss with the RC disability specialist department of RC - I didn't know they had one but on one of these posts a lady had a disabled son and the room wasn't great for his disability needs and she was told to discuss her situation with the disability department.. There will be pop, nuts and other things in the fridge from the ship. You can have your cabin steward or guest relation have someone remove them if you require the room. The fridge should be cool enough and if not get them to repair it for you it is your vacation and they work for you.

On our Adventure sailing someone from our roll call needed a real fridge for her insulin. Royal provided a small "real" fridge for that purpose. She had both the cooler and the fridge in her cabin. I saw it for myself....:)

Small dorm type refrigerators are available on Jewel that keep things much colder than the coolers. My suggestion would be to contact the Concierge (JW_Concierge@rccl.com) about 4 weeks prior to your departure and request that your email be forwarded to the Executive Housekeeper to insure that your original request was taken care of. Make sure that you include your booking number and cabin number.

Just call and an extra fridge can be put in your room for the medicine and they are cool enough. Not the weak ones that are set in the little cubby. I travel with Igg Immune Globulin for Subcutaneous transfusions... I also need a sharps container so RCCL put down Diabetic on my reservation since I need the same supplies.
