jljlinda Posted May 22, 2013 #101 Share Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) nice dinner, atrium bar, piano bar and bed.Next day was last sea day where we did the same thing only difference was I was Garth Brooks in the Legends show. So I had to be at rehersal for noon till 1:30. Then I spent some time in casino and laid around the lido deck. Met a nice couple before dinner at the casino bar and had some drinks with them, (enough to get my glow on and courage up for the legend show). Thoroughly enjoyed your review!! Any chance you have a video of your Garth Brooks performance that you can post (or Youtube link?) Would love to hear your rendition of "Low Places!" (A few years back, our son performed as Garth in the Legends show on the Splendor and we thought he did a great job! Of course, as you know, Dad's are very prejudiced! His Garth performance can be found at: ) Edited May 22, 2013 by jljlinda

They do give you a free dvd and group picture of the show the morning you debark. I had a few cobwebs in my head and forgot to pick it up. I did put on cruise critic if anyone had any video of the show but didnt find anyone. Thanks, Kevin

jljlinda Posted May 24, 2013 #108 Share Posted May 24, 2013 just watched your son. He did an awesome job!!! margaritaman, thanks for your kind remark regarding our son's performance as Garth on the Splendor. Also, I want to say thanks again to you for your great review of the Pride. We have sailed most of Carnivals ships but we have not been on the Pride. Based on your review and the proximity of Baltimore to our home, we will likely book the Pride for a Summer of 2013 sailing (considering July 2013.) LandlockedCruiser01 Posted May 28, 2013 #111 Share Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) Wow, what a nice review! Your family looks really happy to be on the cruise. I almost chose Pride for this year's cruise myself, until my budget made me choose Sensation instead. I had such a great time in Nassau and Freeport. I recognized a lot of places in the Bahamas portion of your review; brought back some good memories. A Spirit class ship is still on my bucket list, though; maybe next year. CruiseyKer Posted June 5, 2013 #119 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Margaritaman thank you so so much for your review and your fantastic pictures! You have a beautiful family!! My boyfriend and I will be cruising on the pride this august going to port Canaveral and the Bahamas. I wanted to ask if they still had the sushi stand on board? I cruised on the pride back in 2009 and I saw a post where someone said they took the sushi stand off another ship and I wanted to know if the pride had theirs taken away as well? EMMDM1 Posted June 6, 2013 #123 Share Posted June 6, 2013 1st, beautiful family and great review. We did this trip on the pride in February and went to magic kingdom as well. This review is like reliving our cruise...thank you! Can't wait to read more. I am going on the Pride next February, can you tell me how cold it gets on the ship? Is the Pool area covered? Thanks
WetToes Posted June 6, 2013 #124 Share Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) I don't get chilly too often, but some say the dining room can be a bit cool. I did once use a wrap in the Taj Mahal, where the shows are. Carry a wrap with you if you are someone who gets chilly often. There is a covered pool, but it isn't always covered. Hope you enjoy your cruise. :) Edited June 6, 2013 by WetToes
pichjoe Posted June 6, 2013 #125 Share Posted June 6, 2013 EMMDM1 the first sea day was cold even though the sun was out and it was windy, the cover over the pool and water being heated made this area very busy with kids and adults alike. The ship itself wasn't bad at all as far as the temperature, when the automatic doors open the wind was bad however.
