Lava Boats

Ive been looking at the lava boats in Hilo and was wondering if anyone has done this recently. Lavaboats.com does a midday sailing for cruise ship pass because we wont be able to do the early AM or late PM time slots. Pix from recent sailing say the lava is flowing well. We are on POA 6/1 sailing. Thanks for any info.

I went on a sunset lava boat tour December 8. Here's a fair warning...you WILL get wet! It's not the fault of the captain, it's just VERY rough waters to the flow and back. They have reviews on Trip Advisor so you may want to check those out. If you can handle a very bumpy ride and don't mind getting soaked, it will be worth it.
