Port Everglades - Where to go to see departing ships

Hi all -

 

My family is cruising out of FLL on June 30, which is a Sunday. We plan to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale shortly after noon on Saturday and I thought it might be fun to wander down to the beach and watch the Saturday ships depart.

 

Viewing the overhead photos, there appears to be lots of places for potential viewing, but I have no clue whether those beaches are public or private, nor do I know the same about the parking lots adjacent to the beach area.

 

Any suggestions?
