Upgrade techniques?????

Recommended Posts

I have a friend who went on an Alaskan cruise. He got upgraded two times till he was in a top level, balcony cabin.

Does anyone have some "techniques" to get upgraded. I am on the AOS, sailing in the southern Caribbean in mid-October. Currently we are in a "view" cabin on the 7th level.

Thanks for the "help."

IMO, the only chance of getting upgraded without requesting and paying is to have booked a "guarantee" cabin, but even then you should be aware of your assigned cabin looking at the RCCL site before the cruise. The only other thought would be to have cruised over 25-100 times and the cruise line doing something spontaneous as a thank you.

Sometimes, if you are lucky, the price goes down and you can get the upgraded cabin for the price you paid for the lower grade cabin. This has happened to us.

You have to keep your eyes on the prices for this. Your TA doesn't have time to check on all the prices.
