Staying in Sydney before the cruise

Any ideas on good places for a family of 5 to stay? We would love to get a view of Darling Harbour for the night before our cruise.

We are going to stay at the Ibis in Aug prior to our cruise its as near to the wharf as any.:)

Grand Mercure Apartments has a great view of Darling Harbour. Can get 3 bedrooms.

Hyde Park Inn, good location, good price, but no view of darling harbour, if you want darling harbour view then it will be a bit more expensive and would suggest Grand Mercure, Oaks Goldsbrough or Seasons Harbour plaza

Is it closer to the wharf if you stay at darling harbour? Hyde park inn seems to be a bit away from darling harbour 2.6 kl

I'm staying at the Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour, close to White Bay cruise terminal (but not walking distance)

So really it does not really matter where you stay the night before as nothing is close to the wharf?

Hi Margrey, no it doesn't matter where you stay because wherever that may be you'll still have to get transport to the White Bay terminal

Hi again Margrey, I'm staying at the Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour the suburb is really call Pyrmont and is about 3km from White Bay Terminal in Rozelle, I've googled approx cost of taxi fare and it's about $14 to get from hotel to terminal

Hi just thought i would let you know the Iibis Pit street is walking distance to the ship. Have done it unseen times. No darling harbour view though.

Hi Marge nothing is in walking distance to White Bay, it'll be a taxi and if you bank on $20-$25 depending on traffic

Sorry in advance for Hijacking this thread, but you all seem to have great knowledge of sydney. Do you have any advice on where we can leave our two vehicles for our cruise departing Sydney next week?
