We also just returned from the Dream. :)(6-9-05) Wonderful cruise and some excellent excursions, with exception of Prince Rupert . Would also be willing to answer questions if anyone has any. It's hard to come home and face all that laundry and cook for ourselves.

Did either of you experience alot of motion on the ship?

What cabin cat. did you have? What was it like? We will be sailing in Sept and are booked in an E cat. cabin and I am worried it will be very small.

WE WERE MID SHIP CABIN 8032...THE SHIP IS VERY STABLE...NOT TO SAY YOU CAN'T FEEL THE OCEAN . THE SEAS WERE RELATIVELY CALM ON THIS TRIP. YOU WILL GET USE TO THE SWAY ..AND IT HELPS GOING TO SLEEP TO HEAR THE OCEAN AND FEEL THE GENTLE ROCKING...NOT TO WORRY..ENJOY THE DREAM

We experienced the normal amount of motion you would expect on a ship in calm to moderate seas - very little. The Dream does seem to have more noticable vibration aft than other ships that I have been on, especially when changing speeds or docking.

We were in a cat. EE cabin 7255 the second to last cabin on 7 Deck and there is vibration and a low pitched hum in this area of the ship, which we expected so it did'nt bother us but may not be to some folks liking. And also the aft docking deck with its equipment is under these far aft cabins on 7 deck. We did have 2 issues with this cabin, a banging pipe located above the ceiling and the sax player who practiced on deck 6 right below our cabin every early evening. The pipe was fixed but would start banging about 12 hours later and this routine continued throughout the cruise with the pipe never fixed.

There was plenty of room in the cabin for the 2 of us and all our luggage and stuff. I think it was about 152 sq. ft.

Not sure of the catagory, but had a room starboard toward the front, room 6218. It is a good location because several times in port we faced the dock. The cabin was large enough for the two of us. We stored all of our suitcases under the bed, and enjoyed having the seating area. We could have comfortable handled three if needed. The rocking and swaying was at a minimum, and loved the rocking to sleep every night. Even when out to sea, it wasn't that bad.

Shore excursions: All wonderful except Prince Rupert. We took the Marine Life & Whales Discovery Cruise and it was a total disaster. They charged $110.00 per person. The company that runs this excursions had better get their act together. We saw absolutely nothing. Not one whale, sea lion, eagle, nothing. The captain took us out into the main water with swells coming up and over into the back of the boat, and many of us were getting extremly sick. We were going against the waves and felt like we were being battered. This continued for over an hour. During this time they passed out a sausage and cheese stick for everyone. Ride the swells with that in your stomach. Finally one of the young girls asked if anyone was having problems and with the show of hands, the captain finally entered off in to calmer waters. He never introduced himself, they didn't have a PA system so you couldn't hear the announcements, and the young girl was reading the script off of a piece of paper. Very poorly ran operation. There parent company is Sea Shore Excursion in Prince Rupert. This is what they advertise:

With your First Nation guide you will also learn about the local Tsimshian culture and view the First Nation Tsimshian village called Metlakatla. The chance to experience the beauty of these natural surroundings and the opportunity to possibly see whales and other marine life makes this cruise a highlight for nature enthusiasts.

The Tsimshian village is a a bunch of houses on an island. Looks like any other group of houses on land. Nothing special. Please don't waste your

money.

If you want to do a really good marine life excursion, do Kenai Fjord and Fox Island in Seward. It was fantastic, We saw a gray whale, humpback whales, eagles up close, sea lions, sea otters, mountain goats and a smaller glacier which was calving. The stop at Fox Island is very nice and you are served a salmon bake meal. It's a nice place to walk around or just sit on the large deck. Absolutely beautiful waters, with large projecting rock islands covered in trees. They have large 90 foot boats, so they can travel in comfort. They even provided a second meal and hot chocolate chip cookies baked on the boat. Hot chocolate and coffee and snacks were also available. We also did other excursions if anyone has a question.
